They Crack Me Up

The latest humor (intentional or not) from each of my funny children...

JULIA
At the LDS Prom, they had the girls put one of their shoes into the middle of the dance floor. The guys each ran out to the pile and picked a shoe, found the girl it belonged to, and they had a slow dance together.

The guy who picked Julia's shoe was really tall, above 6'. He gave Julia her shoe and said, "Hey, it worked!" Julia asked, "What worked?" He said, "I made sure to get a big shoe, so I wouldn't have to dance with a short girl!"

STEVEN
Julia went to Pike Place Market with a friend a while ago, and she brought home a 50 lb. bag of glutinous rice along with a sticky rice pot and the huge basket you use to cook it (it looks like this, except the basket is a bit bigger: http://www.laotravels.com/images/food/stickyrice.jpg ).

We were talking about with all the technology we have in the world, why is making sticky rice so complicated that you still have to use a special pot and a big basket...?

Steven said, "I bet they have a better way to do it in China because they're ahead there."

Someone asked, "Why, do you think they have better technological advances in China?"

Steven answered, "No, they're just a day ahead of us in China. It's tomorrow there."

ANNIKA
At Annika's school, they make a big production out of every fund-raiser. There's a high-pressure assembly, where they get the kids all excited about (plastic dollar-store) prizes or whatever the cause of that fund-raiser is.

The other day, Annika came home all excited about the latest fund-raiser. She said, "We have to get pop for the poor children in Canada!"

As it turns out, the kids are supposed to bring in pop cans to be recycled, to raise money for school supplies for children in Africa!

I went to the store today and bought some pop so we could help those poor children in Canada...
